Dining in Stromboli is magical. Most restaurants are open-air terraces facing the sea or the mountain. Reservations are mandatory in high season.
1. What to Order
- Spaghetti alla Strombolana: An explosion of flavor with local capers, olives, wild fennel, and abundance of chili flakes.
- Involtini di Pesce Spada: Swordfish rolls filled with breadcrumbs, pine nuts, and raisins. A sweet-savoury masterpiece.
- Pane Cunzato: Technically from Salina, but popular here. toasted bread topped with mounds of cherry tomatoes, ricotta salata, and oil. Best lunch ever.
2. Best View: Ristorante L'Osservatorio
Located at the foot of the crater trail, 15 minutes outside the village. You dine by candlelight while watching the volcano erupt above you.
They offer a free shuttle service from the church square.
3. Romantic / High End: Punta Lena
For a sophisticated dinner. Located on the coast, it offers refined seafood dishes and an excellent wine list. The atmosphere is quiet, elegant, and strictly sea-focused.
4. Casual / Pizza: Il Canneto
A massive terrace overlooking the beach of Ficogrande. Great for large groups, families, and massive pizzas. The vibe is loud, happy, and very Italian.
